About Matt

One licensed contractor who shows up, and finishes.

Matt's Maintenance and Makeovers is a licensed New Jersey home improvement contractor based in East Windsor. The work runs from a single sticking door to a bathroom taken down to the studs and rebuilt: tile, glass, vanity and all.

The difference on a small job is who actually turns up. Matt does the work himself and stays in touch until it's done, which is what customers keep writing about: punctual, clean, and reachable.

“I stay in constant communication with my customers until the job is done. To get a free quote, or if you have questions or special requests, just drop me a line.”

Services

Everything from the punch list to the full remodel

Most calls start as one job and turn into three. Matt handles the whole list in one visit rather than sending you to four different trades.

  • Bathroom remodeling

Down to the studs and back: tile showers, frameless glass, tubs, vanities and the waterproofing you never see.

  • Kitchen remodeling

New cabinets and backsplash fitted so the doors line up on day one and still line up a year later.

  • Drywall repair

Holes, cracks and water damage patched, sanded and feathered so you can't find the spot afterwards.

  • Trim & molding

Baseboard, casing and crown installed or replaced, including the rotted section hiding behind the old trim.

  • Flooring

Vinyl plank and tile laid over a subfloor that's been levelled first, so nothing creaks or lifts later.

  • Cabinets & built-ins

Stock or custom cabinets hung level, plus built-in storage scribed to the wall you actually have.

  • Doors

Doors that stick, drag on the carpet or won't latch, fixed. New interior and exterior doors hung and shimmed.

  • Closets & shelving

Shelves and closet systems anchored into studs, so the shelf holds what you actually put on it.

  • Appliance installation

Washer, dryer, refrigerator, oven and dishwasher connected, levelled and leak-checked before he leaves.

  • Window treatments

Blinds, shades and curtain rods mounted level, at the right height, into something that will hold them.

  • Mounting & assembly

TVs, mirrors and gallery walls into studs. Flat-pack furniture built right, with the spare hardware accounted for.

  • General home repairs

Shed doors, pool fittings, exterior panels. The whole list on the fridge, in one visit, on one invoice.

Don't see your job on the list? It's probably still a yes. Describe it, or text a photo to 609-865-8066, and Matt will tell you straight whether it's his kind of work.

Before and after

The parts of a house people stop noticing, put back the way they should be.

Before: rusted, peeling baseboard trim where it meets a stone tile floor
Before
After: clean new white baseboard trim installed against the same stone tile floor
After

Rotted baseboard replaced. The old trim had rusted through at the floor line. Removed, the substrate dealt with, and new baseboard fitted to the stone.

Before: bare unfinished crawlspace skirting panels along the side of a house
Before
After: white lattice vent panel installed in place of the bare skirting
After

Crawlspace skirting closed in. Bare panels swapped for finished white lattice that still vents, so the side of the house stops looking unfinished.

Common questions

What homeowners ask before they call

Do you charge for an estimate?

No. Estimates from Matt's Maintenance and Makeovers are free, in writing, and carry no obligation. Call or text 609-865-8066, or describe the job using the form on this page.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Matt's Maintenance and Makeovers LLC holds New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor licence 13VH13169400 and is fully insured. A certificate of insurance is available on request.

What areas do you cover?

Matt works out of East Windsor, New Jersey and covers Hightstown plus the surrounding Mercer County townships, including West Windsor, Princeton Junction, Robbinsville, Cranbury, Twin Rivers, Monroe Township, Allentown and Windsor. If your town is not on that list, call anyway. It is usually still within range.

Do you take small jobs, or only full remodels?

Both. The work runs from a single sticking door, a patched wall or a mounted TV, through to a bathroom taken down to the studs and rebuilt with new tile, glass and vanity. Small jobs are welcome and often get done in one visit.

Who actually does the work?

Matt does. He owns the business and he is on every job, which is why his reviews keep mentioning the same three things: punctual, clean, and easy to reach. You are not handed off to a crew you have never met.

How quickly can you come out?

It depends on the week, but Matt replies to most requests the same day. One customer wrote that they spoke to him and had the job booked and completed in under twelve hours; another had a Saturday morning repair. Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Saturdays by arrangement.

What is the fastest way to get a price?

Send a photo. Text one to 609-865-8066. A picture of the actual problem gets you a faster and far more accurate number than a description does, and it saves a trip.

Do you do bathroom remodels start to finish?

Yes. That includes demolition, framing, waterproofing, large-format tile, frameless glass, tubs, vanities and the finish carpentry around them. The gallery on this page shows the same bathrooms stripped to the studs and finished.
